RAF Helicopter Visit

We were thrilled to welcome an RAF helicopter to our school community this week.

The whole school were able to experience the excitement of a helicopter landing and taking off from our school field.

Every class got the chance to see the helicopter up close and to even sit inside it!

Class 1 enjoyed talking to the pilots and engineers as part of their 'People who help us' learning and Class 4 had the opportunity to discuss their learning about the Battle of Britain and the role of the RAF in this and more recent conflicts.  We found out about the pilots' experiences in the RAF and compared this with pilots from the time of WW2.

This incredible visit also supported our STEM work in school.  The RAF team explained how the aircraft was designed for its purpose and how flight design has changed through history. The aircraft engineer explained his career journey and how children could start their own engineering careers.

An experience we will never forget!

We Would Love To Hear From You!
